JOIN THE CARE EXCHANGE

Choose Your Path

The Community Care Exchange brings caregivers, trained volunteers, community partners, and

caring individuals together within a structured, reciprocal network of support.

Whether you need support, want to volunteer, want to partner with us, or want to help fund the

mission, there is a place for you in the Exchange.

What Does a Volunteer Actually Do?

Community Care Exchange volunteers provide direct, practical support based on their training

and certification.

Community Companion Specialists may provide companionship, conversation, wellness visits,

caregiver relief, meal companionship, wellness walks, appointment accompaniment, senior

center visits, grocery support, and meaningful social engagement.

Personal Care Support Specialists provide companion support and may also assist with

activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility assistance,

and dementia support.

Comprehensive Care Support Specialists are trained to provide both companion and personal

care support based on their certification and the needs of the family. Volunteers operate within defined boundaries and receive structured training through the Community Care Exchange Academy before being matched with families. Volunteers do not provide skilled nursing care, administer medications, or perform medical procedures requiring licensed healthcare professionals.

Nonprofit coordinator and partner representative shaking hands

Organizations, schools, businesses, healthcare providers, legal professionals, mental health providers, faith communities, transportation providers, and nonprofits are welcomed to explore potential partnerships that help strengthen the caregiving community.

Students pursuing careers in healthcare, psychology, social work, counseling, public health, gerontology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, nursing, or related fields may also inquire about future internship opportunities.

Every path matters, every volunteer hour matters, every donation, partnership, shared resource, and caregiver asking for help matters. The Anchored in Care Exchange may have been founded by one person, but it is built for people who understand that caregiving affects all of us eventually.

When you join, you are helping build a future where caregivers are supported, older adults remain connected, and families no longer have to navigate caregiving in silence.
